Kasetsart University
Kasetsart University (KU) is Thailand largest university and the nation first agricultural institution of higher learning, established on 2 February 1943 to advance agricultural science for Thailand predominantly agrarian economy. Today, KU has grown into a comprehensive research university recognised by the Thai government as one of nine National Research Universities, with 19 faculties and colleges, 17 research stations, 5 field stations, and 45 research centres distributed across all geographical regions of Thailand. KU enrolls approximately 60,000 students and employs over 3,200 faculty and research staff. The university research enterprise is anchored by major institutes including the Kasetsart University Research and Development Institute (KURDI), the Institute of Food Research and Product Development (IFRPD), and the Kasetsart Agricultural and Agro-Industrial Product Improvement Institute (KAPI). Beyond its traditional agricultural focus, KU has expanded significantly into engineering, natural sciences, information technology, and environmental science. The university maintains 111 laboratory research groups and partners with over 200 companies through technology transfer programmes. Research areas range from precision agriculture, aquaculture genetics, and food safety to bioenergy, climate adaptation, and materials science.
