PhD Candidates
Priya Krishnamurthy
Priya Krishnamurthy is a PhD candidate in Machine Learning at IIT Bombay, supervised by Prof. Sunita Sarawagi. Her thesis develops structured prediction frameworks using energy-based models for clinical decision support in sepsis management, demonstrating improved early warning performance over commercial scoring systems on ICU datasets from three Mumbai hospitals. Six publications in ICML, NeurIPS and AAAI proceedings reflect her theoretical and applied contributions. Priya completed a research internship at Google Research India working on multi-task learning for electronic health records. She has co-filed a patent with IIT Bombay on a real-time clinical risk scoring module and has received offers from healthcare AI companies in India and Singapore. Her energy-based model framework is being evaluated for deployment in the Tata Memorial Centre oncology ICU.
