PhD Candidates
Anna Lindqvist
Anna Lindqvist is a PhD candidate in Ecology at Uppsala University, supervised by Prof. Johan Elmqvist. Her thesis documents functional diversity losses in boreal riparian plant communities along forest streams in central Sweden subjected to varying logging intensities, using trait-based community ecology metrics to evaluate recovery trajectories under alternative forest management prescriptions. Seven publications in Forest Ecology and Management and Ecological Indicators reflect her field survey and analysis work. Anna collaborated with the Swedish Forest Agency on data collection across 180 stream reaches and contributed to a Parliamentary inquiry on sustainable forestry practices. She has been offered a research ecologist position at the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and a consulting role with a forest certification NGO. Her trait diversity indices are now used in Swedish national forest biodiversity monitoring protocols.
