# Neri Oxman

> Neri Oxman pioneered the discipline she termed Material Ecology, integrating computational design, additive manufacturing, and synthetic biology to produce structures that behave like living organisms. Her Mediated Matter group created landmark works including the Silk Pavilion. Her multi-material 3D printing techniques have been commercialized with Stratasys.
