# Katalin Nagy

> Katalin Nagy leads Hungary's foremost research program in oral microbiome ecology, focusing on how dysbiotic shifts in subgingival biofilm communities drive systemic inflammatory disease including cardiovascular disease and adverse pregnancy outcomes. Her longitudinal Budapest cohort studies established quantitative thresholds of periodontal pathogens that predict incident atherosclerosis, integrated into European oral health guidelines. She received the Albert-Wander Prize.
