# Jean-Marie Lehn

> Jean-Marie Lehn coined the term supramolecular chemistry and shared the 1987 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for developing cryptand host molecules capable of selectively binding metal cations. His later work on constitutional dynamic chemistry introduced the concept that molecular networks can adapt and evolve toward optimal structures, anticipating self-healing materials.
