# Amin Salari

> Amin Salari uses large-eddy simulation to resolve the turbulent flow structures inside printed-circuit heat exchangers operating with supercritical CO₂ as the working fluid — a next-generation cycle for concentrated solar power and advanced nuclear plants. At Sharif University of Technology's Mechanical Engineering department, supervised by Prof. Hassan Khalil, he has built custom OpenFOAM solvers that capture the dramatic property variations of sCO₂ near its pseudo-critical point, where conventional Nusselt correlations break down by more than 30%. His LES databases have revealed that the channel corrugation geometry introduces secondary flows that locally suppress heat transfer in ways no RANS model predicts. Amin has validated his solver against a national high-pressure loop facility, establishing credibility for the simulation data. His consulting arrangement with a Tehran-based power engineering firm — which is evaluating sCO₂ cycles for waste-heat recovery — and a manuscript under review in the International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer both demonstrate that his academic research is already feeding into industrial decision-making.
